Thanks for subscribing to my Ezine - Annapolis Valley Updates. First let me tell you about some of the interesting things you may expect to see in these articles. I plan to mail one Ezine out every month.

The main reason for the Annapolis Valley updates is to keep you updated on any changes and additions I have done on my web site Annapolis-Valley-Vacation.com. The site is getting so big it is hard to find the new stuff, so I will provide you with links to these changes.

For those already in the Annapolis Valley or planning to visit the area I will also list some of the exciting things going on in the Annapolis Valley for the following month. For more information on these and other events make sure to check out my Annapolis Events Page on my web site.

Introduction

Where does the time go, I really meant to get an Ezine out last month, at least one, as I have so much new stuff on my web site. There is way too much to put into one Ezine, so maybe I will do one every week or two until I get you caught up with all that is new. I hope you do not mind.

Things are going well here this winter so far. I have not minded the Saskatchewan winter as bad as I expected to, but then it has not been a bad winter here. I am, however about ready for spring to arrive. I hear the ground hog, "Shubie Sam" did not see his shadow on Feb. 2, so that does mean a early spring!

I did have a great thing happen last weekend I would like to share with you all. It was my birthday and I think I had a unique party for it. A lot of my closest friends in Nova Scotia got together for my birthday party as did some of my friends out here in Saskatchewan. We then joined the two parties together using Skype. We even played a game together in the two provinces, plus took lots of pictures of each other! Isn't technology fantastic these days!

 

Upcoming Events

The annual Sheffield Mills Eagle Watch ended last weekend, I hope you had a chance to go see the eagles this year. If you never made it out for the scheduled days you know you can still go see the eagles. They hang around the area for most of the month of February. It is best to go in the morning, but you still have a good chance to see them almost anytime.

At this time of the year you find several Winter Carnivals and festivals going on in the communities. Check out the dates for some of them on my Winter Events Page.

February 3 - 13 is the Nova Scotia Ice Wine Festival and there are several events happening for this in the Annapolis Valley. Check your local papers for a schedule of events in your area.

 

Updates & Changes to Annapolis-Valley-Vacation.com

In my last Ezine I told you about my new section on Annapolis Valley Ghost Stories. I hope you had a chance to read a few of these ghost stories, they are kind of interesting.

 

Next I added a section on Annapolis Valley Folklore Stories. This page includes stories about people and events that have happened over the years which are a big part of our past and heritage. While looking for pictures for these pages I decided to use old postcards that I have. I think they add a nice touch to these folklore stories. These stories include:

 

I think I will leave it with that for this issue of my Ezine. There is quite a bit of reading in that section for those that are interested in folklore of the Annapolis Valley.

I have also added several old postcard pictures to the Annapolis Ghost Stories to if you want to check them out.

 

My web site is growing so much and so fast now. I am ranking really well with the major search engines now and my average hits-per-day is over last summer already! Remember if you are interested in advertising on my site you can check out my policy on my Advertising Page.

 

I hope you are all having a good winter so far and that you are getting a chance to get out and enjoy it. On those days when you can't get out, I hope you are planning your visit to the Annapolis Valley this summer!
