November 25, 2010
Hi ""

Thanks for subscribing to my Ezine - Annapolis Valley Updates. First let me tell you about some of the interesting things you may expect to see in these articles. I plan to mail one Ezine out every month.

The main reason for the Annapolis Valley updates is to keep you updated on any changes and additions I have done on my web site Annapolis-Valley-Vacation.com. The site is getting so big it is hard to find the new stuff, so I will provide you with links to these changes.

For those already in the Annapolis Valley or planning to visit the area I will also list some of the exciting things going on in the Annapolis Valley for the following month. For more information on these and other events make sure to check out my Annapolis Events Page on my web site.

If you like this e-zine, please do a friend and me a big favor and "pay it forward", by forwarding this on to them.

If a friend DID forward this to you and if you like what you read, please subscribe by visiting My Annapolis Valley Updates Page.

Introduction

Ok, so I really have an apology to make to all of you, my subscribers. It has been a long time since I have written one of these Ezines. I really have no excuses except that I had been very busy over the summer and then with settling into my new living space with my son.

As I mentioned I left in April to go to work at my job in the Prince Albert National Park in Saskatchewan. It was a great summer, well maybe not weather-wise; we had abnormal amounts of rain this year. But I had taken a couple of friends out to work with me this year and I had a great summer showing them around both the park and the province. I think they both enjoyed the summer and are talking about coming back next year.

After my summer job was completed I had to say goodbye to my two friends and then get settled in to my new living quarters. Sadly I did not return to Nova Scotia this year, I have decided instead to spend a couple of years with my son and his family in Saskatchewan. It was a hard decision but I felt I was missing too much of my grandchildren growing up.

Even though I did not have much time to spend on my website I was amazed to see how it was growing! Thank you everyone for your visits to my site, I was averaging over 400 people per day all summer and some days over 800! That is way over double of last year!

I was still receiving lots of comments and questions all summer which I tried to keep up with answering. I hope I did not miss anyone. I will remind people that my website is meant as a general site about all that is available in the Annapolis Valley; I received a lot of comment forms from people wanting to register for an event. I do not organize the events, only report about them. With that said I will try hard to find you the organizer's contact information when I can, but I cannot register you for any event. I am glad to see more of these organizers sending me their information about these events, this makes it so much easier for me to keep you with up-to-date information.

Another thing I was really impressed with was how my C2 pages were going over. These are invitation pages for you to submit your own stories and experiences in the Annapolis Valley. I realize that most of you are very busy, or may be quite shy to write and submit your own stories. But for those who want to I have been providing them with a place to have their own web page on my site. I have received several submissions of stories over the summer. They are all great stories; I love to read them all! I will provide you with the links to these pages at the end of this Ezine so you may read them to.

I do have one sad thing to report, well for me anyway. I no longer have access to the newspapers in the valley. I know I could buy the subscriptions but to buy a subscription to everyone in the valley would cost me a small fortune. This means that I am not able to follow up on all the news happening, especially now as I am living in Saskatchewan. I am still looking for some way to provide you with this information, but until then I have deleted the section in this Ezine for the news of the valley.

The good news is that even though I did not do a lot online with my website this summer, I did do a lot of research and jotting down information for at least three new sections! I have all my information and I am spending my time now in turning them into web pages, so they will be up and running very soon! I think a lot of people will enjoy these new features; they include "Annapolis Ghost Stories"; "Annapolis Mysteries & Buried Treasure"; and "Annapolis Folklore and Legends"! I have collected a lot of information over the years and I have gone through almost all of it and picked out a lot for these categories, I hope you will enjoy them. The best news is that these will also all be C2 pages, so you may add your stories to them as well! I really look forward to your stories!

Upcoming Events

Oh no, I need to again apologize. I went to check on my events calendar for upcoming events and noticed that my "Annapolis Holiday Events" page had not been updated. I am sorry for this mistake. I have updated this page to show what events are happening in the Annapolis Valley this holiday season.

Almost every town, village and community has something happening to celebrate the holidays. As there are way too many to list here, I ask you to visit my holiday events page at Annapolis Valley Holiday Events Page.

Updates & Changes to Annapolis-Valley-Vacation.com

As I mentioned above I have not added any new pages to my web site for awhile, but I am working on them. Please keep a watch for my "Annapolis Ghost Stories" page, "Annapolis Mysteries and Buried Treasure" page and my "Annapolis Folklore and Legends" pages coming very soon!

What is new to my site is the stories that you have been sending in. Keep them coming, they are great! Here are some of these new stories:

I want to thank all of you who have sent in recipes and stories, they are a great addition to this web site.

I have also been working on ways for business and organizations to advertise on my web site. I am now ready to start this section up. To view about advertising on Annapolis Valley Vacation.com you may check it out on my Advertising Page.

Well this is all for this addition. I will try to be more prompt at getting these out on a more regular basis. Remember if you have any suggestions of things you would like to see on this site please feel free to contact me by answering to this Ezine, using my contact forms, or now by submitting your stories yourself.

I hope you have found something interesting or informative in this issue of Annapolis Valley Updates. If you have any comments, Ideas, or other feedback I'd love to hear from you. Just reply to this Ezine and tell me what you think!
