Acadia Trail
One of Digby's Newest Trails

The Acadia Trail is a great trail for walking - hiking. It is Digby counties newest trail and is still under construction, but there is enough finished to make a great walking trail.

The trail starts at the parking lot beside Pine Brook and follows the brook upstream. It features several loops depending on how far you want to go.

The first section of this 5 km trail has a wide flat gravel surface designed for wheelchair accessiblity. This section follows along the brook and features several wood decked fishing platforms complete with benches and tables.

The second section follows the brook farther to a beautiful waterfall complete with a lookout and a rest area.

The rest of the trail is still under construction. The trail has been blazed and there are orange markers marking the way, but the surface has not been completed.

The trail is well maintained and will take you through various types of foliage and vegetation as it travels through mixed forest and across meadows. It comes out to Tuppers Deadwater where you just might get a glimpse of the beaver living there.

This trail is open year round.

Directions

To find this trail take exit 26 off the Highway 101 and turn towards Acaciaville. Drive to the Mill Road which will be on your left. Drive right to the end of the Mill Road, down the steep dirt incline and park in the parking area.
