Great Annapolis Restaurants
There are many great Annapolis Restaurants to be found. If you are looking for great seafood, or that special truly Nova Scotian dish, you will find it in the Annapolis Valley, NS. Of course we also serve all your favorite Canadian dishes, but we specialize in our seafood. After all we are home to the World Famous Digby Scallops! Plus we have the best tasting lobster you'll find, and our clams, well you will just have to try them! Let's face it, if you are coming to the Annapolis Valley you will have to have seafood for at least one meal! And if you have it early in your trip I just know you will be back for more! So the food is great, but what about the service in the restaurants? Well, we have been called the friendliest people around, and that includes our cooks and waitresses. I think most will agree that our public service people are very friendly and helpful. It is a requirement for most of the jobs. The atmosphere in most of our restaurants is very unique also. Whether you are looking for a small quiet cafe or a big fancy restaurant, we have something available. Of course we have most of your favorite fast-food / take-out places also, but they are about the same everywhere you go. I want to tell you about those special gems that are unique to our area. On this page I am going to tell you about a few of my favorite Annapolis Restaurants, but I would also like to hear about yours to! Not everyone has the same taste so it is always good to hear different opinions. If you would like to tell everyone about your favorite Annapolis Restaurant or share your experience, in one of our places to eat, good or bad, just click here to go to a spot where you can write your story. You will also find it at the bottom of this page.     Some of My Favorite Annapolis Restaurants
- The Driftwood - My uncle and aunt told me about
"The Driftwood Restaurant" located in Berwick. They liked it so much they finally took me out for lunch there to prove to me how good it was. Well they sold me with that one meal, and I have been back several times since. This little restaurant almost hidden off the main street in Berwick is big on hospitality, huge on portions of food

and small on cost. Even though they seem to be very busy every time I have gone there, I find the waitress is very fast taking your order, and you do not have to wait very long for your food to arrive. The last time I went there I ordered the half a fisherman's platter and it came on two plates! I would hate to see the whole one! The haddock on the plate was pan fried and oh what taste it had, one of the best I have ever had. Just before our meal came we seen the waitress go by with someone's fish and chips and the one piece of fish almost filled up the whole plate. The thing my uncle and aunt love about the place so much is what they say is the truly Annapolis Valley dishes. Lots of these dishes like fried bologna, real fishcakes, meatloaf, salt cod and pork scraps, homemade baked beans, corn chowder and bread pudding are not totally just Annapolis Valley, but they are not what you find on your normal menu. Of course they do have all your regular favorites also. "The Driftwood Restaurant" is one of my favorite Annapolis Restaurants.
- The Fundy Restaurant - The Fundy Restaurant in Digby is another one of my
personal favorite Annapolis restaurants. This is where I go when I want really good scallops or clams. I really like the light batter they use on their shellfish, it lets you taste the shellfish better. My mother always really enjoyed their haddock also, she always said it was some of the best. She should know, mom always loved her fish.I took a friend, who was visiting this last January to the "Fundy
The Fundy Restaurant, Digby, NS Restaurant" for a feed of clams and he was really impressed with the food and the waitress who served us. She was so friendly and helpful and was very willing to answer any of his questions. They had just got in a blue lobster in their tank and she told us all about it, where it was caught, what will happen to it and other interesting things. For your information she told us this rare lobster will not be on anyone's plate, he will live peacefully in their tank for customers to view. The Fundy Restaurant has an indoor deck where it is all windows which look out over the Annapolis Basin along with the Digby Wharf. You can watch all the activity at the wharf and on the water as you enjoy your food. For the warmer days they also have an outside deck to sit out on while you eat.
- End of the Line Pub - located in Bridgetown is the former Dominion
Atlantic Railroad Station which was built in 1919 but was closed with the ending of rail travel in this area. In 1994 the land was sold and after extensive renovations the building was transformed into the great reminder of days gone by. The whole station is full of pictures and other memorabilia from the days when the trains ran through here.
The End of the Line Pub, Bridgetown, NS It is a wonderful relaxing atmosphere for both eating or sitting back relaxing. Not only is the atmosphere great here but the food is also. They serve great seafood and other Canadian dishes always with a smile. This is another one of the great Annapolis Restaurants.
- Ye Olde Town Pub - Another great place with lots of good atmosphere
is the "Ye Olde Town Pub" in Annapolis Royal. This little pub is the smallest pub in Nova Scotia history and is located in a building which formerly held a bank when built in 1884. It was opened as a pub in 1986 and has become "a gathering place for great food, good friends and fine times". When you first enter the little pub you will be taken by the feeling you have come over you. The walls are full of pictures displaying a more
Ye Olde Town Pub, Annapolis Royal, NS industrious time in Annapolis Royal and the displays just take you right back to that time. Take this with the very friendly greeting you get when you walk through the door and you feel like you just came home. The atmosphere is great here, but so it the food. They serve up everything from great appetizers to very tasty steaks to great seafood. They also have a rappie pie special on every once in awhile which is so tasty. Rappie Pie is an old Acadian dish known and loved here.   These are just a few of my favorite places to eat here in the Annapolis Valley, there are so many more. Do you have favorite Annapolis Restaurants located here in the valley? What was your best or worst experience in one of our restaurants? Why not share your story with us, we would love to hear it.
