Belliveau Cove Park Joseph et Marie Dugas Park
The Belliveau Cove Park is also known as the Joseph et Marie Dugas Park. Within the park is the 5 km hiking trail called the Piau's Walking Trail. This historic waterfront area located on Highway #1 at Belliveau Cove offers a wide variety of attractions. It was named after the first Acadian couple who arrived in this area in 1768. The Piau's Walking trail starts in the park and proceeds through forest and shoreline and past an old Acadian cellar. It will take you about an hour to finish this loop. It is a very interesting seaside trail and has boardwalks, benches & interpretive panels along the way. Besides the walking trail the park also offers the chance to explore the fully operational lighthouse, or the 1st Acadian cemetery and church all located there. Wander around the farmer’s market and craft center. You will also find a restored Post Office that was established in 1856 and the Visitor Information Center. The trail and recreation area is open year round however the craft center is only open in July & August and the interpretive centre is only open from the end of May to the end of September.   DirectionsExit off the 101 Highway at exit 28 and follow on Route 1 until you see the signs for park.     | Have you taken the Piau's Walk?
