So you are looking for a park! You are sure to find one in the list of Digby County Parks here. Are you planning a kids birthday party, a family picnic, or just a place to kill an hour or two? Well why not visit one of the many provincial and municipal parks found throughout Digby County! This list of Parks found in Digby County includes ones that has something of interest to you and your family. They have picnic tables, playgrounds, walking and hiking trails, duck ponds and some even have petting zoos. You will find some of these parks in the Annapolis Valley and some along the Bay of Fundy. There are many right in town and others a short distance away in the country. I have tried to list all the ones I know about. If you know of others I would love to hear about them. I have provided a form at the bottom or the page so you may easily tell me about them. I would love to add them to the list. You may also use this form to let me know which Digby County Parks are your favorites. I welcome your input. Canada Geese Raise Their Young In Many Annapolis Valley Parks   Central Grove Provincial Park This picnic area is located on Rt. 217 in Central Grove, Long Island in Digby Neck. It is a roadside picnic spot complete with picnic tables. A 1 km (0.5 mi) scenic walking trail leads to the Bay of Fundy where it is a great place to take photos or maybe see some marine life. Central Grove picnic area is open daily from mid May to early October.     Savary Provincial ParkOverlooking St. Mary's Bay, southwest of Digby in Plympton, this little Park offers you splendid scenery as you eat your lunch in either the open field or the hardwood treed picnic area. If you are there during low tide you will enjoy the splendid beachcombing opportunities along the beach. The park is open daily from mid-May until mid-October.   Joseph et Marie Dugas ParkThis historic waterfront area located on Highway #1 at Belliveau Cove offers a wide variety of attractions. It was named after the first Acadian couple who arrived in this area in 1768. Take a hike around the Piau's Walk, a 5 km long interpretive trail which starts at the park and hugs close to St. Mary's Bay shoreline. Besides the great views of the Bay the trail also features freshwater wetlands and provides boardwalks, benches and interpretive panels along the way. Or you can explore the fully operational lighthouse, or the 1st Acadian cemetery and church all located there. Wander around the farmer’s market and craft center. You will also find a restored Post Office that was established in 1856 and the Visitor Information Center. The trail and recreation area is open year round however the craft center is only open in July & August and the interpretive centre is only open from the end of May to the end of September.      Annapolis Basin Look OffEnjoy scenic views of the Annapolis Basin as you rest at this picnic spot. This Digby county Park is located 1.5 kms north of Digby.  

Looking For Souvenirs Along The Bay of Fundy   Lake Midway Provincial ParkAs you drive along Rte 217 to the Digby Islands you will come to Lake Midway, located about halfway down. You are welcome to stop at the Lake Midway Provincial Park, a little roadside park along the lake. There are several picnic tables scattered throughout the hardwoods and open field. The lake is a great place for a swim, or to try your luck with some great trout fishing. This park is open from mid-May until mid-October.   Smuggler's Cove Provincial ParkSmuggler's Cove Provincial Park, located along Hwy #1 in Metagan got it's name because it was a prime location for smuggling liquor during the prohibition in the 1920's. During high tide the cove fills with water and is inaccessible, but can be reached during the low tide. There are steps and interpretive panels telling the history, for those wishing to go down to the cove during the low tide. At the top there are picnic tables in an open field overlooking the cove and cave.     The Waterfront ParkIn the center of Bear River there is a authentic Dutch Windmill which has been made over to serve as a Tourist Information & Welcoming Center. It is surrounded by the Waterfront Park and boardwalk overlooking the tidal waters of Bear River. Next door you will find the first Solar Aquatic Wastewater Management Facility in Canada.   Saulnierville Drugstore PlaygroundLocated along hwy #1 in Saulnierville this playground is found behind the drugstore and is open for their patrons and visitors to the area.      Metagan ParkThis Digby County Park located in Metagan along Hwy #1 is still under construction but is hoped to be opened for the 2009 summer season.   Smith's Cove Look OffTake exit #24 off Hwy 101 and follow the short trail to the look off that overlooks the Annapolis Basin and mouth of Bear River. There are interpretive signs located there for your information.   This is a list of Digby County Parks that I have found.
