Digby County Trails for Walking & Hiking

There are not as many Digby County Trails, (Not that I have found yet), but what they have are really good ones. How could they not be with the beautiful scenery found throughout the county?

Some of the best trails of the area are found on the Digby Neck Islands. Here you will discover unique tundra with several types of vegetation along with spectacular views of the Bay of Fundy coastline. My favorite is the Balancing Rock Trail.

Walking-hiking trails can also be found in Digby, Smith's Cove, Belliveau Cove, Weymouth and Bear River.

• Piau's Walk Belliveau Cove Park - The list of Digby County trails start in Belliveau Cove Park with its 5 km hike on the Piau's Walk Trail.
• Acadia Trail - The first section of this 5 km trail has a wide flat gravel surface designed for wheelchair accessible.
• Balancing Rock Trail - Here you will find a well-groomed 2.4 km trail through scrubland and soft wood forest to one of our best natural wonders.
• Central Grove Trail - This 1.6 km trail is owned by the Province of Nova Scotia and is open from May to Thanksgiving.
• Northern Light & Coastal Trails - If you look around at the lighthouse you will find some trails to the left of it. You can follow these coastal trails for some unique scenery along the way.
• Western Light Trails - Here you will find more coastal trails around the lighthouse area. Watch for interesting plant life and wild flowers along the trails.
• New France Trail - This trail takes to the former site of the "Electric City" or New France.
• Smiths Cove Trails - This quaint little village of Smiths Cove offers great walking trails around the area.
• Digby Admiral Walk - The Digby Admiral Walk overlooking the Annapolis Basin offers a great waterside stroll while you are in Digby.
