The Fundy Restaurant

The Fundy Restaurant, Digby, NS

The Fundy Restaurant Digby, NS

The Fundy Restaurant in Digby is another one of my personal favorite Annapolis restaurants. It is located at 34 Water St, Digby which is the main business street in Digby going along the water.

This is where I go when I want really good scallops or clams. Both my brothers love their deep fried clams and insist on going there when we go out to eat.

I really like the light batter they use on their shellfish, it lets you taste the shellfish better. Plus they use all fresh seafood which they purchase from the local fishermen and dealers. You may even pick out your own lobster from the aquarium in the restaurant.

My mother always really enjoyed their haddock there, she always said the pan fried haddock was some of the best anywhere. She should know, mom always loved her fish.

I took a friend, who was visiting from out west to the "Fundy Restaurant" for a feed of clams and he was really impressed with the food and service.

When we were there they had just got in a blue lobster in their tank. The waitress pointed this out to us and told us all about it, where it was caught,

what will happen to it and other interesting things. For your information she told us this rare lobster will not be on anyone's plate, he will live peacefully in their tank for customers to view.

Besides their great seafood you will find other great dishes on their menu. They have a good selection of pasta dishes and luncheon wraps plus other Canadian dishes. Although they are not a place I can afford to go to all of the time, their prices are fairly reasonable for the service, food and atmosphere of the restaurant.

The Fundy Restaurant has four separate dining areas all a little different but all very cozy. They feature an 80 foot glass enclosed solarium looking out over the Annapolis Basin along with the Digby Wharf. You can watch all the activity at the wharf and on the water as you enjoy your food. They also have a two-tier outdoor balcony also looking over the Digby fishing fleet, the beautiful new boardwalk and all the waterfront development.
