Leos Cafe

Leos Cafe Located in historic Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia Leos Cafe is located at 222 St. George Street in the heart of historic Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. The building it is located in, the Adams/Ritchie building was built in 1712 by John Adams and is a Provincial and Municipal heritage building. It is believed that this was probable the largest house in town when it was built. The house was later bought by John Ritchie whose family became one of the most important families in Canadian judicial and legislative history. They owned it for over 90 years. The building was greatly expanded with a piece built on the front, a third storey added and an ell onto the back in 1882. It was used for the King's Clothing Hall for a long time and was returned to it's 1780's appearance in 1981 by the Annapolis Royal Development Commission. Leos Cafe moved in to the building right after this. The cafe is a great spot to stop for lunch as it serves wonderful sandwiches all made from bread made each morning. They only use fresh local ingredients and everything is made right there. Many people cannot refuse their home made desserts either, they are just that tasty. My niece Kari loves this little cafe and makes it a point to visit it every time she is visiting from Toronto. Several local people make it a point to go there for lunch or for afternoon tea or coffee. The prices are reasonable and the food is healthy. You do not walk away hungry either. You may eat your lunch inside the little cafe or have it at one of the tables outside in the beautiful garden.   Did you realize that you can get great restaurant reviews also at TripAdvisor?
