Pearles in Paradise

Pearles in Paradise is located at 9767 Hwy #1 between Bridgetown and Paradise, Nova Scotia.

It is one of the very few Dairy Treat type takeouts left in the Annapolis Valley. It has survived mainly because of it's great reputation of lots of delicious food all for a very reasonable price.

People travel from all around just for their haddie bit dinner, which is their specialty.

In case you do not know haddie bits are broken bits of haddock fillets that could not be sold as full fillets so are sold at a cheaper price. They are every bit as good as the whole fillets, just already in smaller pieces for you and quite a bit cheaper. We always buy haddie bits from the fish plants or fish trucks.

Pearles is locally owned and operated and has been serving fresh home-cooked food since 1990. They purchase their 100% lean ground beef for their burgers, fish and seafood locally and all of their food is prepared fresh when you order it. You can't get too much better than that!

They try to keep their food as healthy as they can to. They use 100% canola oil with zero fat and cholesterol. Even their fries are zero transfat and cholesterol free. They even make their own coleslaw and tarter sauce right there.

Haddie bits are their specialty but no matter what you order you are guanteed to get very large portions of the best food found anywhere.

They are a Dairy Treat so yes you will find ice cream there. Lots of ice cream, 16 flavours of hard ice cream plus several more flavours of soft ice cream. Plus all of your favorites Sundaes, banana splits, parfaits, flurries, mini banana whirls and much more!

Pearles is take out only but they do offer several picnic tables around where you may sit outside and enjoy your ice cream or meal. Do not be alarmed by the full parking lot when you drive in, everyone goes there and they can become very busy, but they are really fast at getting your order ready, I have never had to wait that long. I have been there lots to, you have heard how much mom loved her haddie bits and Pearle's was one of her favorite places to get them.

Awhile back the Halifax Herald realized the lack of a good restaurant guide in Nova Scotia so asked it's readers for reviews on all the restaurants in Nova Scotia. There were many highly recommended eateries around the province for good food at lower prices. There were lots of votes for the same places but the highest recommended place of all was Pearles In Paradise.
