Scenic Drives
In The Annapolis Valley

Sometimes you just feel like going for scenic drives whether you are from the Annapolis Valley, or a visitor here. Well what better area to go for that drive.

The Annapolis Valley and the Bay of Fundy have some of the best scenery you will find anywhere. It does not matter what season it is. Matter-of-fact try doing the same scenic drive at different times of the year. You will be amazed each time of the unique beauty you find.

Spring brings all the new growth; everything looks so new and fresh. You will see people out working their land and gardens, and the blossoms, especially the apple blossoms are just gorgeous. They smell so sweet also. I also love to see the many streams and brooks this time of year; they are so full and pretty. The waterfalls are at their best to see after the spring run-off also, but be careful not to get too close.

By summer everything is looking so green complimented by the bright colors from the many gardens. Nothing is as refreshing as a cool scenic drive over the North Mountain to the Bay of Fundy on a hot, humid day in the middle of summer. You can stop at many places and take a revitalizing walk on the Bay of Fundy shore. Have a picnic on the shore and take time to do a little beachcombing to.

Autumn is the prettiest time of all, well it is my favorite. Don't miss this time to take a scenic drive and look at all the vibrant colours from the changing leaves. The large variety of hardwood trees we have in the Annapolis Valley provides many different coloured leaves all mixed together to take your breath away. Make sure to take your camera.

Winter in the valley seems to be a calmer time, but the scenery is still just as breath-taking. Especially after a new fallen snow; when it is still laying on the trees limbs and everything looks so white and refreshed. It is really a winter wonderland.

Bay of Fundy

I have made up a few pages telling you some of my favorite scenic drives. The links to these pages are below.

How about sharing with us some of your favorite drives in the Annapolis Valley and Bay of Fundy area?

It is very easy to do. Just click here to be taken right to the place, or you will find it at the bottom of this page.

  • Bay of Fundy - A drive over the North Mountain from anywhere in the valley will bring you to the majestic Bay of Fundy. The Bay of Fundy boasts the highest tides in the world raising an average of 23 feet between tides. The force of the tides has created some of the worlds most captivating and unusual landscape formations making this one of the interesting places to visit again and again.

  • Victoria Beach - The drive to Victoria Beach is well worth the trip and another one of the wonderful breath-taking places to visit. There is a lot of history in this drive to take in, along with a very pretty fishing village built on the banks of the mountain.

  • Bear River - This picturestic little town is situated between two hills and it's beauty is incredible to behold in any season, but breath-taking in the fall.

  • Digby Neck - The trip down through Digby Neck is one of my favorite scenic drives, especially when I take the time to explore all the little roads that lead to the water.
