The Driftwood Restaurant

The Driftwood Restaurant in Berwick, Nova Scotia

The Driftwood Restaurant in Berwick, Nova Scotia

The Driftwood Restaurant is located at 209 Commercial, Berwick, Nova Scotia.

My uncle and aunt told me about this little hidden restaurant. They liked it so much they finally took me out for lunch there to prove to me how good it was. Well they sold me with that one meal, and I have been back several times since.

This little restaurant is almost hidden off the main street in Berwick. But it is worth finding as it is big on hospitality, huge on portions of food and small on cost.

Even though they seem to be very busy every time I have gone there, I found the waitress is very fast taking your order, and you do not have to wait very long for your food to arrive.

The last time I went there I ordered the half a fisherman's platter and it came on two plates! I would hate to see the whole one! The haddock on the plate was pan fried and oh what taste it had, one of the best I have ever had.

Just before our meal came we seen the waitress go by with someone's fish and chips and the one piece of fish almost filled up the whole plate! Mom did try the fish one time I took her there and she said it was "very good."

The thing my uncle and aunt love about the place so much is what they say is the truly Annapolis Valley dishes. Lots of these dishes like fried bologna, real fishcakes, meatloaf, salt cod and pork scraps, homemade baked beans, corn chowder and bread pudding fill their menu. These items are not just Annapolis Valley dishes, they are not items you find on your normal menu.

Of course they do have all your regular favorites also. The Driftwood Restaurant is one of my favorite Annapolis Restaurants. I do suggest not going right at the lunch hour as they sometimes get very busy. You are better to wait a little bit or go early to get a seat right away. If you do have to wait a bit, know it is worth the wait.
