The Walking Trail in Blomidon Park Annapolis County has really structured itself to be a healthy recreational place to live or visit. The Annapolis County Recreation Services work closely with the Recreation Directors from Annapolis Royal, Middleton, and Bridgetown to promote physical fitness and recreational facilities in the county. They have also published several books on recreation in the county of Annapolis including
Annapolis County Walking-Hiking Trails include ones like the historic and beautiful hike at Delaps Cove Wilderness Trail which follows along the Bay of Fundy Shore for much of it. Or try one of my favorites at the Mickey Hill Pocket Wilderness where you follow a lovely brook out to a beautiful lake. Just in the last few years Annapolis Royal has developed a couple of great trails to promote more activity. These include the French Basin Trail where you will see lots of water fowl and wildlife and the newest one behind the Fire Hall which offers great views of the Annapolis Causeway. Cliffs around the Balancing Rock, Long Island There are not as many walking-hiking trails in Digby county, but what they have are good ones. How could they not be with the beautiful scenery found throughout the county? Some of the best trails of the area are found on the Digby Neck Islands. Here you will discover unique tundra with several types of vegetation along with spectacular views of the Bay of Fundy coastline. My favorite is the balancing rock trail. For a real taste of our history I recommend the New France Trail that will take you back to the famous Electric City. Another very nice walk with a great view of the famous Digby Scallop fleet is the Digby Admiral Walk.Check out the many different trails of Digby County here, and learn a little about them. Every year it seems I hear about new trails opening up also. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to explore all of these trails yet, but I am working on it. I hope you can find a few that meet your expectations out of the list I have made up. So lace up your hiking boots and get out there and enjoy what this area has to offer.   Hey, would you like to keep track of my progress on this web site?
