Ye Olde Towne Pub

Ye Olde Towne Pub, Annapolis Royal, NS Another great place with lots of good atmosphere is Ye Olde Towne Pub located at 9 Church Street, Annapolis Royal. This little pub is the smallest pub in Nova Scotia history and reminds you of a little English corner pub. This little pub is located in a building which formerly held a bank when built in 1884. This accounts for the triple brick walls and the bars located on the windows. When it was built it was right in the middle of activity in Annapolis Royal as there were five sets of train tracks right in front leading to the wharf where goods were shipped and received from far away ports. Later the building became the liquor store in town and then a bakery for awhile. It was opened as a pub in 1986. Since then Ye Olde Towne Pub has become "a gathering place for great food, good friends and fine times". When you first enter the little pub you will be taken by the feeling you have come over you. The walls are full of pictures displaying a more industrious time in Annapolis Royal and the displays just take you right back to that time. Take this with the very friendly greeting you get when you walk through the door and you feel like you just came home. The atmosphere is great here, but so is the food. They serve up everything from great appetizers to very tasty steaks to great seafood. They make fabulous home made desserts, if you have enough room after your main meal. They also have a rappie pie special on every once in awhile which is so tasty. Rappie Pie is an old Acadian dish known and loved here. You can eat inside, order take out or have your meal out on their deck over-looking the Annapolis Royal Farmer's Market. Ye Olde Towne Pub has become a favorite among the locals along with returning visitors to the area. I know it is a favorite of my nephew Jason's whenever he is in town visiting. He goes there both for the food or to just relax quietly over a brew.   Did you realize that you can get great restaurant reviews also at TripAdvisor?
